“Follow Me to Keaton Beach!”
Keaton Beach is a coastal community in the southern part of Taylor County, Florida, United States. Keaton Beach is located at 29.8244° N, 83.5949° W. Keaton Beach is 22.5 miles south of the county seat of Perry.
According to local historians, Keaton Beach was named for Abb and Sam Keaton, two brothers who apparently first settled in the area and who are thought to be its original owners. It is believed that their family originally owned cotton farms in the area, however, their primary source of income gradually shifted as mullet fishing became one of the thriving industries in Taylor County. About Keaton Beach
Keaton Beach is a genuine slice of old Florida, a hidden gem mostly undiscovered by outsiders, just waiting to be explored! Enjoy opportunities for outdoor activities such as fishing, scalloping, catching crabs or just old-fashioned family fun in the sun!
For those of us fortunate enough to have grown up in the area, and those fortunate enough to live here now, we like to think of Keaton Beach as a little bit of Heaven on Earth. Kind of like a time machine that transports you back to the days when things were slower, friendlier and more simple. All of the awesome activities available here were (and are) the canvas on which we locals painted priceless memories of the endless summer days of our childhood. Around here everyone is family, and if you hang around long enough, you might just get adopted!
So if you are ever in our neck of the woods, stop by and say howdy! We’d love to meet you… But be warned, because like the “Hotel California” that the Eagles cautioned you about, many of our visitors never leave! And that’s because once you got a little Keaton in your blood, we promise you’ll want to call this place home!
